Let’s face it, managing money is not easy, especially because it’s not something that you learn in school.
Our formal education lasts for a long time but it only passes through two stages:
- the first stage is the ‘school’ stage where you learn to read, write, and to reason;
- the second stage is the ‘professional’ stage where you learn the principles of the work that you have chosen.
But it is clear that our education or training lacks an additional stage, that of financial education, which is the means by which you will increase your revenue. My goal, therefore, is to teach you how to create your financial freedom and live the life you’ve always dreamed of.
Managing money is just like a sport
It is very common to hear phrases like “Go to school, study, graduate and find a stable job”.
These phrases may seem trivial, but they are actually an important indicator of the mentality and the financial culture that surrounds you. I hate to be discouraging, but it is essential to open up your eyes to the truth. This type of mentality is the opposite of what you have to have if you want to have good economic results in your life.
Unfortunately, neither school nor the world of work provide adequate training in order to reach this objective. We must therefore take matters into our own hands and change course.
Set yourself different goals from those indicated by formal education and change your mentality. I did and I succeeded! If you follow the advice that I am offering you, there is no reason why you can’t change course and succeed too!
In order to manage money you need to have the right mindset
To help you to understand what I mean when I talk about the right mindset needed to manage money, I want to present two completely different but, in some ways, similar situations:
- It sometimes happens that people with an average income who win the lottery, after a short time, go back to having the same amount of money that they had before the payout from the lottery;
- The American billionaire Donald Trump, despite having lost everything, was able to rebuild his empire in the space of a few years .
What do these two situations have in common? The answer has to do with what I like to call the set point, that is the right attitude and the right mindset.
How to manage money with a winning mindset
The real key to success is having a set point aimed at a winning mentality. This is what really matters. It is far more important than education or a person’s family. It is a fact that very successful people have radically changed their lives.
These people include: Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft; Ted Turner, owner of CNN; Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb and founder of General Electrics; and Steve Jobs, founder of Apple. They were able to succeed in life and become famous and they were not university graduates.
Some successful entrepreneurs that I have met did not even finish eighth grade and did not come from wealthy families.
But they had the right mindset: that’s how they were able to achieve results that others thought were impossible.
